Key Scripture:
“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much, and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own?” (Luke 16:10-13 KJV).
God is very interested in every area of our lives, including our finances. In fact, God uses our finances to teach us things about our character. Trust and integrity are two areas that are often the most tested when it comes to our finances. It is important that we understand the way that God has designed money to work. When we apply the principles that God has given us regarding finances, this creates favour and flow in our lives. This does not mean that if we obey all the principals perfectly that God now owes us. On the contrary, in the New Covenant, I am blessed because of Jesus. However, God has principles by which He governs His Kingdom, and when we apply His ways to our finances we will see the fruit in our lives.
Stewardship
“And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own?”(Luke 16:12 NKJV)
Stewardship is the first principle we need to learn in the Kingdom. God looks at how we handle other people resources to test our trustworthiness and integrity. We need to make sure that when it comes to our character that we are found trustworthy with finances.
Generosity
Whatever you sow you will reap. This is a principle of the Kingdom of God (Galatians 6:7). God wants us to be a channel of blessing to other people, and finances are meant to flow and not get stuck with us. As we live generous lives, we represent our father and sow seeds for a future harvest. Farmers understand this principle of sowing and reaping, and we can apply it to every area of our lives.
