Key Scripture:
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen” (2 Corinthians 13:14 NKJV).
The Bible speaks of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Bible calls this the Godhead (Romans 1:20; Colossians 2:9). God is three persons, but ONE God. This is where we get the word, Trinity from. Tri, meaning three, and unity, meaning one. Although Trinity is not a word used in the Bible, it is a foundational theological term that we need to understand.
In our Statement of faith, we say this about the Trinity: "We believe there are three Persons in the Godhead: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory.” This means that God’s personality is expressed through the three persons of the Trinity. Thus, they are different in personality, but equal in power.
By now you would have already experienced the presence of all three persons in your life, whether you realize it or not.
esus is our wonderful saviour. He is our deliverer, our healer and so much more! Jesus is the One who has made a way to the Father. Through Jesus, our relationship is restored to the Father. Father God is called father because that is what He is. The One who is patient, kind and slow to anger, and abounds in love. He is a good Father that has a plan for your life (Ps 103:8). The Holy Spirit dwells within us gently leading, guiding and comforting us. The Holy Spirit is the one who speaks the thoughts and voice of God into our Spirit and that voice comes up into our thoughts as described earlier (more about the Holy Spirit later).
There is so much more to get to know about God. A relationship with God is like any other relationship. As you spend time with Him, He will begin to reveal Himself to you and this will change your life in ways that are mind-blowing. Knowing God and being loved by HIM is all you need in this life to be successful and victorious.
