Key Scripture:
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” Jesus answered, " Most assuredly, I say to you unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again'
(John 3:4-6 NKJV).
If you respond to the gift of salvation extended to you by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth, you will be born again. Just as we are physically born by the womb of a woman into this natural world, so we are also spiritually born again into the Kingdom of God. When you receive Jesus as your saviour, your spirit is made new. This means you are an entirely new creature.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”
(2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV).
New creation means brand new, as if never used. Your past sins are washed away as far as the east is from the west, and you have a clean page to start on. Everything that you need to live an overcoming, victorious lifestyle is yours. You can never be the same again!
There is nothing more beautiful than a newborn baby. When you look at those perfect little feet that have never been used before, your heart melts.
This means that you have a new identity, and new life is breathed into you. Your desires will begin to change as you are given a hunger for God and the things of the spirit. Being born again enables us to see, and be partakers in, the Kingdom of God!
